Barge Group work with Jackson Civil Engineering
Once the St Clements Way, Greenhithe road improvement project reached its final stages, Barge Group were contracted by Jackson Civil Engineering to provide the final landscaping solution.
With Traffic Management & Pedestrian Management installed and safe working zones set up, Barge Group’s Highways Teams set to work. Following construction of the improved road, bus lane and footpath and installation of acoustic fencing by Jacksons, the Highways Teams installed the final landscape finish that will soften the works area.
The project has seen 50+ mature trees being planted as well as thousands of shrub and hedge plants. Completing the landscape specification, thousands of square meters of amenity and wild flower grass seeding and bark were also planted and installed.
Through careful liaison with our site teams, our Highways Projects Manager, and the Project Manager from Jackson Civil Engineering Barge Group were able to overcome all of the issues an active construction site can throw your way. Including the myriad of fragile buried services on site needing careful air spade excavation to avoid accidental damage. The use of air spade excavation further reinforces Barge Group's commitment to Zero Harm and ensuring the teams went home safe, every day.
The project utilised stake-less tree anchor systems to avoid damaging anything that may below, all installed and completed by our team of skilled operatives.
Following the completion of the installation Barge Group will be responsible for the maintenance of the landscaping for the next 2 years ensuring that all new vegetation establishes as planned.
